Ford will let you run two out of the six without the ignition but only the two dedicated high-amp switches and to do so you need to install a jumper fuse. On top of that, the RAM config is programmable in the cluster.if you want a momentary or latching switch, with ignition on or off, etc. It's very tight to get in there with a butt connector and a crimper. The current Fords, especially diesel, have the wiring in a really tight spot, under the fusebox, at the back of the hood.hard to get to, and exceptionally short blunt-cut wires. The older Fords with 4 switches were easier to wire but still not as good as RAM. I prefer the roof location and the 6 switches, but otherwise RAM has it all over Ford, with the included wiring pigtails, and much easier access under the hood. ![]() Ford introduced it first with 4 switches Then they went to 6 up in the roof for 2017.
